Origin
Vineyard planted with 100% Gamay, the grapes for this wine come from the Fleurie appellation area.
Granitic sand on an east facing slope above the village of Fleurie.
Average vine age: 45 years old
High density planting
Harvest date: September 2005
Work on slopes means that no mechanical aids can be used. The vineyard is criss-crossed with a network of “charrois” or tracks that slow storm water and limit erosion. Maintenance for this network is carried out in spring.
Vinification
Traditional semi-carbonic Beaujolais vinification
10-day vatting
Extraction by pumping over and punching down the cap
Extraction temperature of 33°C at the beginning of alcoholic fermentation
Brought down to 20°C at the end of alcoholic fermentation after pressing to retain the fruit aromas and flavours.
This Fleurie is crafted to bring out the full characteristics that are an integral part of the Adule Valley. The wine is an explosion of fruit set on the specific structure of 2005.
Maturing
Matured in vats for 12 months
Bottled on the estate in autumn 2006
